TOP RATED HEATING, COOLING & PLUMBING IN Charleston, SC

From historic homes South of Broad to bungalows in Wagener Terrace, we keep downtown Charleston comfortable year-round.

Why Charleston Homeowners Call ClimateMakers

Charleston homes are not built like homes anywhere else. Tall ceilings, piazzas, tight crawl spaces and attics with little room for ductwork all change how a heating and cooling system has to be designed and serviced. We have been working in these homes since 2006, and we take the time to do it right without damaging what makes your house special.

You get an honest diagnosis and a flat-rate price before any work starts, and one team for heating, cooling and plumbing.

Heating, Cooling and Plumbing for Charleston Homes

Many downtown homes were built long before central air existed. When there is no good path for ductwork, a ductless mini-split system can cool and heat individual rooms with only a small line set between the indoor and outdoor units. For homes that already have ducts, we focus on sealing and insulating them, since attics on the peninsula get extremely hot in summer.

Water is the other big factor. King tides and heavy rain flood low-lying streets, and salt air corrodes outdoor equipment faster here than inland. If floodwater has reached your outdoor unit or crawl space ductwork, have it checked before you run it, and ask us about raising equipment above typical flood levels.

Older homes also tend to have older plumbing. Cast iron drains and galvanized supply lines eventually crack, clog or corrode. We handle drain and sewer work and pipe repairs, and a tankless water heater can free up valuable space in a small downtown house.

Do not run it until a technician checks it. Saltwater can damage electrical parts and the coil. We can inspect it, make repairs and talk through raising the unit.

Tall, older homes often have one system trying to cool every floor, plus hot attics and leaky ducts. Duct sealing, a second system or a ductless unit for the top floor are the usual fixes.
